Lesbian women suffered physical and emotional abuse including sexual assault along with torture in Ecuadorian clinics where they tried to cure them of being lesbian.
Apperently there are hundreds of clinics with such claim to "cure homosexuality", but what exactly can they cure? Are they sure they know what homosexuality is? Despite social science and biological research, it's still not know what causes someone to be gay (homosexual) or straight. How can treatment centers like this claim they can cure it, when nobody really knows what causes it?
As most homosexuals would agree, "you can't turn someone into a lesbian and you can't change your sexual orientation".
For the Ecuador women, the government is now working with Fundacion Causana to eradicate the treatment centers from Ecuador and free the women trapped inside. Also they launch a national public awereness campaign to fight homophobia, writes change.org.
Maybe something Marcus Bachmann should think about.
